First prize for cosmoONE at the 2022 WITSA Global Innovation & Technology Excellence Awards

cosmoONE, a SOFTONE Group company, received the top international distinction for the application of management of requests for production from RES

The first prize at the 2022 WITSA Global Innovation & Technology Excellence Awards in the Sustainable Growth / Circular Economy (Private Sector/NGO) category was won by cosmoONE for the “System for Submitting and Managing Applications for Energy Producer Certification from RES (Renewable Energy Sources) and CHP (High-Efficiency Electricity-Heat Cogeneration)’’.

This is the 2nd international award for cosmoONE – within a few years, at the leading technology institution organized annually by the World Information and Services Association (WITSA), as it was preceded by its award in 2017 in the same category for the eAuction System for Energy Products.

The “System for Submitting and Managing Applications for Energy Producer Certification from RES”, was designed and developed in 2020 for the needs of Greek RAE (Regulatory Energy Authority), with the aim of effectively dealing with the accumulated crowd and the complexity of managing production applications from RES. Its implementation took place in record time, incorporating all the necessary procedures, from the submission of the initial request to the automatic creation and posting of decisions in DIAUGIA. The system supports twelve (12) more in-cycle and out-of-cycle modification procedures, such as change of installed capacity, change of polygon boundaries, divisions and mergers, transfers, renewals and revocations, changes of seat, legal representative, etc. At the same time, it introduced several innovations for the first time in RAE, including connections with TAXIS, DIAS, DIAUGIA and DAPEEP systems, as well as with RAE’s GIS system.

The CEO of cosmoONE, Mr. Thanasis Petmezas, who received the award at the award ceremony that took place as part of the 26th World Congress on Innovation & Technology (Penang, Malaysia, September 13-15), said: “The company’s recognition and the solutions it develops and offers in the energy sector, from independent bodies abroad, is a great honor for us, especially when this recognition is expressed with two awards in a few years. We are particularly happy and proud of our contribution, through our systems and applications, to the promotion of RES projects and the achievement of the goals of the National Energy and Climate Plan, facilitating the implementation of investments for licensing projects of total power 40+ GW.”.
