Mobile Resource Management Services
Value: a competitive advantage for businesses.
The Fleet and Mobile Human Resources Management Services become more and more vital to businesses. The companies are looking for immediate
and better quality information from their mobile resources and collaborators, ability to exchange messages and communicate with them, with the
main purpose to maximize productivity and safety.
According to a new benchmark study from the Aderdeen Group, «Mobile Technologies» are considered to be the key competitive tool by nearly
three-quarters of fleet operators. An 87% of participants in the study stated that the improvements in customer service have covered and
even exceeded their expectations.
The four main areas of Mobile Technologies are:
• Basic Communications with drivers. These include bi-directional voice communication, exchanges of messages, path finding and collecting
basic delivery and pickup data. For most of the fleets today these capabilities represent necessary skills of vehicle fleets.
• Added Value Services. These include communication for the transmittal of digital images such as the image of packages for handling,
customer signatures, recording and transmission of additional information such as running costs, vehicle status, even sending lists of needed
spare parts and transmission of operations to the central systems. These skills are vital to the efficient operation of delivery service.
• Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) Includes automatic capture of the position of a vehicle or trailer with the real-time recording of
position on a digital map. It also includes a visual record of the footprint of the road a vehicle travelled along with their respective
reports. Advanced features include geozones that give the ability to support notification of arrival and/or departure at/from a specific
location, and the management of deliveries and pickups all the way to completion at the computer systems of the company, the objective
being better planning as well as real-time knowledge (conformities, exceptions and delays) of the planned missions.
• Vehicle Sensors. Vehicle sensors include, among others, diagnostic engine temperature sensors, weight sensors, sensors for
security seals, sensors for open / close door security and lately RFID sensors. So it's possible to monitor conditions of transportation
of dangerous cargo, perishable goods and valuable materials, anywhere increased emphasis on safety is needed.
